Yeah, but both parties have changed a lot since those days, and our culture has become extremely intollerant of others since that time. The entitlement mentality has run amok since then.

I grew up in the fifties and sixties with Democrat folks, and voted democratic up until 1990.

My parents wouldn't recognize the party as it is now. And I saw a newscast the other day showing statistics that the Republican party is now being recognized as for the worker. The one thing unions liked about Trump is that he could explain how they could amicably work together with businesses. So that party has really changed over the years as well.

BTW, you may never hear this on the main media outlets.

In my opinion, any blind or otherwise disabled person who votes Republican is shooting themselves in the proverbial foot. The so-called GOP is nothing like it was when the ADA was signed and, even then, our disabled community had to push for it.
Add to that that the party and especially Trump does not represent Christian values.
