[Faith-Talk] Special prayer request

Roanna,
You say you already applied for a customer service job.
Let us know if you get it! Is this part time?
What sort of display do you need? If its for work, I'm guessing one of the larger ones which are more expensive. Many are 40 cells such as the Braille Edge and Brailliant. Freedom Scientific also cells a 40 cell one called Focus 40 Blue but I've never seen it.
If blind people use braille, most people around here seem to use the Humanware notetakers or Humanware Brailliant.
Keep advocating. You are not alone though. When I tried to work with my state agency in Virginia, they told me "when you get a job offer, we can do that as long as you need it for work."
I do not know why you left the last job, but its great you are getting back to work!
You will be in my prayers.
Try to pray with others too; your church might have a committee for prayer requests as well.
Some churches help individual people depending on the size and their budget. If you feel you can pay some of the cost of a display, you might see if you can pay for maybe half or a third of it, and the church pay the rest.
Take care,
Ashley

Thank you so much for your prayers, Ashley! Restoring the customer service industry. Yesterday, I applied at the place where I had my last job because I saw they had a position open. Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you soon.

The only thing I can think of is that if you do not have a specific job you’re searching for then won’t support Tech Assistance ForState Job Center Site. They don’t know what the requirements are for the position and if they don’t have to pay for something like that, they won’t. so you have to be very upfront about essential skills needed for the type of work you are going into. At least this is how it works in Wisconsin. They would rather support someone who already got the job because then they can only pay for what’s tailored to your specific workplace needs.

The They are only willing to get me a refurbished laptop computer to assist with my job search in process, but not a refreshable Braille once I return to work. I’m very sad and disappointed by this.
