Hi, Ashley,

Just a thought, have you thought of going back to school to get a marketing
degree, or in a field of public relations?  Are there places where you can
volunteer so they get to know your face, in order to have a foot in the door
when a position comes open?  If you could be in a position to levereage,
that would be great!

Hi Joy,
Thanks for thinking of me. Yes, I do have interest in specific areas.
I have a BA degree in liberal studies and studied a lot of psychology years
ago.
I want to work in a nonprofit or small company. I want to use my
communication skills to work on projects. 
I'm also interested in working with kids such as being an activity leader or
tutor for them.
Some examples of jobs I could fill in a nonprofit or small company are
communications assistant, event planner, public relations assistant, member
of a fundraising team, and outreach associate.

Yes, I have taken computer classes. I have not received training recently. I
did not get along with my state agency for the blind counselor and do not
have a case now. 
I'd like more training to update my skills; especially in the Microsoft
office suite. I will someday pay for that. I am saving up money for some
personal things to purchase and one of those items is assistive technology
training services.

Roanna, let us know how it goes and if your counselor responds to your
emails. I hope you get the equipment you need whether it is through your vr
counselor or some other way.

By the way, Ashley, I mentioned the free eReader to you as probably more of
a recreational or leisure device, since I don't think it would be suitable
for work since you can't write with it.  But I will pray about your work
situation.  Have you expressed an interest in something, or have you taken
classes in computer skills for the blind, which would help you no matter
what you decide to do.  Joy
