[Faith-Talk] Obtaining braille hymnal

Hi, Kelsey.

I do like Sidney's idea of seeing if the choir director can either email you the lyrics for the hymns or post them to a place where you can then access them. Beyond that, have you tried seeing if the hymnal is available via Bookshare<http://www.bookshare.org/> or the Louis database<https://louis.aph.org/#/> from APH? For kicks, it’s also worth seeing if the hymnal is available from the Internet Archive.<http://www.archive.org/>

Finally, you might want to investigate the Xavier Society for the Blind.<https://xaviersocietyfortheblind.org/> If they don’t already have the hymnal in their catalog, it’s worth calling them to see if they may be able to transcribe it.

Hey there,

So I've been in my church choir before because I use to go to a Catholic school. Well, I did for 2 years anyway.

Anyhow, usually, my choir director would email me the words as a word attachment.

She'd also post them to Google Classroom, and I'd use my braille note touch to go to Google Classroom and read the words.

Sidney

Hello all,

I'm a new member to the list hoping someone might have a suggestion. I just joined my local Catholic church choir. The director provides music for us to work on which she is working on getting it to me so I can get the lyrics brailled ′getting music braille notation for everything would be a significant cost, especially since there is a lot of new material, so getting the words is all I can do at the moment′, but she also uses the hymnal for the hymns we sing at Mass. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of the Roman Catholic hymnal in braille? The director asked me for leads on where she could go to obtain this for me, but since I have never been in a catholic church choir before, I was hoping sone on this list might know where I could get this.
