Hello,
Hello,Hoping someone can offer some suggestions. There are a couple sopranoes who are assigned to sing the descant parts of certain songs. They both have beautiful voices, but they sing so loud that they overpower the rest of the choir and I can't hear my section very well. I never paid attention to it until last week when one of the choir members who was driving me home from Mass asked his wife what she thought about the music. She mentioned about the high sopranoes overpowering the group and it made me ralize how big of an issue it is. Part of me wants to approach the director about this and ask her to address it, but I also don't want to cause problems by bringing it up. What do you all think? Would I be out of line to ask the director to please ask the sopranoes to back off a bit so the other parts can be heard, especially the melody? What's making this difficult is the fact that the one lady who usually sings those high parts agreed to take me on as a student in her private studio when she gets an opening ′she's currently full with a wait list′, so I fear that if I say something, she might find out who complained and not want to take me as a student when the opportunity arises. If it weren't for this, it would be easier, but want to know what you all think. from Kelsey Nicolay’s iPhone
