Hi Ericka,
We have posted here about the NFB Blind Christians Group. I have posted the agendas for our 2024 and 2025 convention meetings, and we had a Zoom option for the 2024 meeting. Chris Nusbaum also posted information and the link when we had a meeting before the 2024 convention with the people from the Prayer and Crisis Referral ministry because they were looking for more people to take shifts to pray for those who call. The onus is on you. Please contact me if you want to know more.
Blessings,
Linda

As you may know, the NFB has within it several groups that allow people in the organization who share a common interest, background, faith, etc to come together to discuss and work on topics of interest to blind people in that particular area of interest. This is somewhat similar to the NFB's divisions, which are often more well-known, except that groups are often smaller and only have one chaiman/chairwoman rather than a full board. Groups also focus mostly on interests, while divisions tend to focus on careers. That said, the Blind Christians Group is the group within the NFB that represents Christians within the organization. We have an annual meeting at the national convention where we hear from producers of accessible Christian materials and have a variety of panels and group discussions on various topics. In between, we've periodically held Zoom calls which we would like to see become more frequent, partnered with other ministries to participate in joint activities, and, most recently, contributed to a toolkit being developed as a resource for churches on blindness. We also have a wonderful prayer partner who faithfully calls each member monthly to see what they need prayer for.

So, if you would like to be put on the private mailing list for members, please contact Linda Mentink so she can add you. In the meantime, I'll send you off-list the recording of last year's meeting so you can get an idea of what we're about.
