Hi Tony and Tina,

I have not written in to this group in a long time, but have been reading your messages. I know that spiritual warfare is real, and will keep praying for Tina. I agree with Chris—it would be helpful for you all to talk with someone on the prayer line.

I also read a book by a pastor named Carl Payne called Spiritual Warfare: Christians, Demonization, and Deliverance. I heard about him on a podcast called In the Market with Janet Parshall; he is on that podcast pretty often. People call in and ask him questions, too. I wish his book were on BARD or Bookshare, but the only accessible format for it is Audible. I have Audible, and I'm almost sure that if you don't have it, you can sign up for Audible and get it as your first book, which will be a free trial.

Here are some things that Pastor Payne says in the book:
He says that spiritual warfare has three types: the world, the flesh, and the devil. He says they all are real.
He says that when there is spiritual warfare and demons keep telling people negative things and putting thoughts in their minds, you are more powerful than they are because you have Jesus, and they know that. He said that you can resist them boldly, not with fear. Ask God to cancel any ground that the person may have unknowingly given the devil or demons. He also said that if they say evil things in the person's mind, just ask them if that thought will stand before the judgment seat of Christ, and the demons will say no. He said don't get into a big argument with them—don't give them any extra tttention because that's what they want. They have no right to Christians because they cannot live where the Holy Spirit lives, but can oppress Christians. I have had awful thoughts come into my head and felt bad about them because they're things I wouldn't even want to think and definitely do NOT belichre or agree with. Other people I know have had the same thing. One Scripture that helps me is 2 Cor. 10:5 where Paul talks about taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and casting down every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Also James 4:7-8.

  How do I do that??  What does that look like?  I've been trying to
remember to walk around our home and pray that the enemy be kept away.
