[Flagdu] Working with a guide by my side again

Hi Merry and all,

I have been following Merry's new guide journey with great excitement and
anticipation. I know many of us remember fondly when John Bifield spoke at
our FLAGDU meeting in 2013 when we were at the Bayfront Hilton in St. Pete.
I'm so happy that Merry had such a positive experience, and can't wait to
see Gaston! As a matter of fact, I get to meet him at this Saturday's Tampa
Bay Chapter  meeting. I don't think Merry will mind taking a "back seat"
this time around!

Congrats to all in their lively household! I here all creatures, including
the cats, Sergeant and Cappie, are adjusting well to the sudden new
addition.

Hello FLAGDU members and interested parties,

 

Your Vice President is no longer between guide dogs!!  Last year my golden
retriever lab cross tore her ACL.  After seven months of not using a guide
dog,  I am proud to introduce to you my new guide  dog, Gaston.  Gaston is a
beautiful smooth coat collie.  He came to live with us on February 6th and
we are doing well for a new team. What a pleasure it was to train with a
trainer who has a wealth of experience.  I send out my heartfelt
appreciation to John and Freedom guide Dogs for one of the greatest training
experiences ever!

 

I can't wait to have Gaston by my side at the next National Convention.
