Hello Everyone,

This is a reminder of Maryland Day, which will take place at the National
Center for the Blind on Saturday, August 29 from 9:00-4:30. The address for
the center is 1800 Johnson Street; Baltimore, MD 21230. You enter on the
Wells Street side of the building.

There is no cost for this event, but I do need to know how many people are
coming so I can give a count to the center staff for food purposes. Right
now I know we have groups from Sligo Creek, Cumberland, the Eastern Shore,
Greater Baltimore, and our new Upper Chesapeake Chapter. If you have not
all ready let your chapter president know you are coming, please email me
directly at president at nfbmd.org or call me at 410-235-3073.

The agenda for the day is as follows.

9-9:30: light breakfast items in the dining room

9:30-10:45 Welcome, time for Dr. Maurer, President of the NFB, to talk and
answer questions, news from the state president, and information about
selling the Lewis Braille Silver Dollar.

11:00-1:00 tours of the National Center for the Blind--these will include
time to shop in our Independence Market, time to look at and ask questions
about technology in our International Braille Technology Center, time to
explore the TenBroek Library, and more!

1-2:30 lunch in the dining room. This will include a welcoming ceremony for
our newest NFBMD chapter.

2:45-3:30 Workshops You may choose from NFB Philosophy, Membership
Building, or Focus on the Afiliate

3:45-4:30 Workshop: You can choose from the workshops listed above.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR STUDENTS There will be a separate student workshop which
will run from 2:45-4:30. Topics discussed will be of special interest to
students!

I hope to see many of you for this fun filled day of information,
communication, and fellowship.
