Meet Louis Braille: Inventor Mentor and Advocate



Most people know that Louis Braille invented the Braille alphabet, but this
genius made many additional contributions toward the advancement of blind
people throughout his life.



As part of the annual meeting of the Friends of the Maryland State Library
for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Mr. Jerry Whittle will present a
dramatization of the life of Louis Braille.  Jerry Whittle has been a
Braille instructor and counselor for more than 25 years.  He hails from
Ruston, Louisiana. Jerry is the author of numerous plays including two about
the life of Louis Braille.  Come and learn about the career of this
individual who revolutionized the lives of blind people throughout the
world.

Place: Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, 415
Park Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Time: 10 AM to noon.
