Maryland Department of Disabilities
 Presents

"SSI (Supplemental Security Income) for Students:
How to Get SSI and Medical Assistance, Go to Work...
and Live to Tell About It"

A FREE webinar (computer-based seminar)

Transition-aged students with disabilities and their parents often struggle
with a key decision: to work or not to work? If the student receives
public benefits (such as SSI and Medical Assistance) and does not know how a
paying job might affect those benefits, the decision may be even more
difficult. Here is a chance to learn how to qualify for SSI and Medical
Assistance; how safety nets called "work incentives" can protect benefits
while you work; and ask other questions about employment and benefits. As a
bonus, students who receive Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits will
learn how work incentives can protect their benefits when they work.

While anyone may participate, this webinar is specifically designed for
parents of transition-aged students and professionals who serve them.

The same webinar will be held on each of the following dates:

*
	Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Registration
deadline - September 22)
*
	Tuesday, October 26, 2010, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Registration
deadline - October 19) THIS SESSION WILL BE REAL TIME CAPTIONED.
*
	Thursday, November 18, 2010, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Registration
deadline - November 11)
*
	Thursday, January 13, 2011, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Registration
deadline - January 6) THIS SESSION WILL BE REAL TIME CAPTIONED.
