Dear Fellow Federationists:

This is a reminder that the monthly meeting of the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the National federation of the Blind will take place tomorrow, Saturday October 20, at the National federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute, 200 East Wells Street at Jernigan place, Baltimore, MD 21230. Breakfast, prepared by our Executive Director for Operations, John Berggren, and his helpers, will be served at 9 a.m., and the meeting will begin promptly at 10 a.m. in the usual fourth floor conference room. You will not want to miss this meeting, which will be packed with important information. It's the final chapter meeting before our Maryland state convention, and we need to discuss our responsibilities as the host chapter for the convention. Speaking of which, many of you have not made your hotel reservations for the convention, and it's my understanding that the hotel has already released our block of rooms. If you'd like a place to sleep during the convention, you'll want to contact the Doubletree Annapolis immediately. Also, don't forget that we have an exciting Meet the Blind Month event planned after the meeting. Details of this "flash mob" have been sent to this list under separate cover. We'll also be discussing other Meet the Blind month events, including our participation in a Halloween festival and a classical music recital by our own Rachel Grider. Finally, we'll be hearing from Jackie Kelly of James Pharmacy, a local pharmacy which offers delivery and now offers the Scriptalk service, which is a method of providing audible prescription directions and other important medication information. Jackie will be demonstrating this groundbreaking service, now available in Baltimore, which makes important prescription information accessible to the blind. All this and much more will be discussed at the meeting, so make sure that you're here.

You will recall that last meeting I announced that the Red Cross was asking for our participation in another blood drive. It was my understanding that the blood drive would take place tomorrow but the Red Cross has not confirmed this and I may have been confused about the date. I will let you know today or tomorrow the latest information regarding the details of the blood drive.

If you have any other questions or items for the agenda, please don't hesitate to contact me by e-mail or by phone at (410) 262-1281. See you tomorrow.

Sincerely:

Chris Danielsen, Chapter President
