Subject: [Greater-baltimore] Want to catch an Orioles game and raise money
for the NFB?

Dear Fellow Federationists:

My colleague Ilana Posner has informed me of an exciting opportunity to
raise funds for the Greater Baltimore Chapter and to enjoy some fun social
time together. The Baltimore Orioles have a program in which organizations
can procure a block of tickets to an Orioles game and receive part of the
proceeds from the sales, as well as opportunities for the organization to be
recognized and receive other benefits. We are contemplating attending a game
on Thursday, September 26, when the Orioles play the Toronto Blue Jays.
Tickets, in the lower reserved section, would be $15, and the chapter would
receive $7 from each ticket. Depending on how many tickets we sell, we could
receive incentives, such as the appearance of our name on the scoreboard or
the opportunity for an NFB representative to receive an autographed baseball
on the field. This seems like a great opportunity to receive funding and
recognition for the federation, as well as having a great time at the ball
park. It's also a great way for us to show our community spirit and support
for one of our local sports teams.

I'm writing to gauge initial interest in such an event so that we will have
an idea of how many tickets we should ask for. This matter will also be
raised at tomorrow's chapter meeting but I wanted to make sure that those
who cannot attend the meeting are aware of it. Be sure to consider not only
whether you would like to attend yourself, but also whether friends or
family would like to attend or whether you feel that you can help us sell
our block of tickets to friends, family, or acquaintances. If you are
interested and/or want to help by selling tickets, please call me or send me
an e-mail at cdanielsen at nfb.org<mailto:cdanielsen at nfb.org>. We'd like to
make a decision on whether to pursue this opportunity early next week, so
let me know of your participation as soon as possible.

Sincerely:

Chris Danielsen, Chapter President
