Subject: [Greater-baltimore] Contact Senator Mikulski on Monday or Tuesday July 29th-30th

Hello all,

The Senate HELP Committee will be voting on S1356, the Workforce Investment Act on Wednesday. We need to tell Senator Mikulski to remove 2 provisions from this act.. The first is Section 511 that requires vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies to include training and employment at wages below the federal minimum wage as a VR service. Second, remove the provision transferring rehabilitation services from the US Department of Education to the US Department of Labor. Both of these provisions will be detrimental to persons with disabilities.

Sen. Barbara A Mikulski's phone number is: (202) 224-4654

Send email to both:

Her Chief of Staff: Julia Frifield julia_frifield at mikulski.senate.gov

And Her HELP Committee Staff Person: Jessica McNiece jessica_mcniece at mikulski.senate.gov

We need all of our members, family members, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances that reside in Maryland to make calls and send e-mails to tell Senator Mikulski to remove these provisions from the act.

We cannot save the Rehabilitation Program without your action. Thank you.

Sharon Maneki
