I thought the below information might be important for many of you to have.

As required by the Transportation Infrastructure Investment Act of 2013 (known as the gas tax bill), MARC Train Services fares will increase on June 25. The legislatively-mandated increase will occur prior to the July 1, 2015, deadline for implementing the new fares adjusted for inflation, as required by the General Assembly.
In addition to the fare increase, the following policy changes will take place on MARC Train Service:
*         The surcharge for onboard ticket purchases will increase from $3.00 to $5.00
*         Virginia Railway Express tickets will no longer be honored on off-peak MARC trains
