Hello all!

Before Thanksgiving, please make two calls. One to Senator Cardin and one
to Senator Van Hollen. Here is the message to them: Please maintain the
blindness deduction in the tax reform bill. It is currently in the Senate
version and we need to keep it there.
Also, ask them to amend the tax reform bill to include the tax credit
proposed in the Access Technology Affordability Act S732. Both Senators have
co-sponsored S732 so thank them for that and tell them it should be included
in the tax reform legislation.

Please ask both Senators to co-sponsor the Accessible Instructional
Materials in Higher Education (AIM HIGH) Act, S. 2138. The legislation will
authorize the creation of voluntary guidelines to help colleges and
universities meet the needs of blind students and students with other
disabilities that make it difficult or impossible to read print. Tell them
to contact Senator warren's office concerning co-sponsorship.

The switchboard number is 202-224-3121.

Your holiday will be more enjoyable because you have helped other blind
people by making these calls. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
