[Greater-Baltimore] Help the NFB Jernigan Institute Youth Programs by Collecting Cardboard

President Riccobono asked me to share the following email with you. Please bring your cardboard to the May and June chapter meetings—see below for details about what we need.

Subject: Shaheen’s Sill Solicitations: Call for Cardboard

Friends:
It has been some time since I have made a silly solicitation; this summer’s NFB EQ<http://www.blindscience.org/nfbeq> requires that I take up trash collecting once more! We are in need of a great deal of cardboard for an NFB EQ activity. Find the particulars below

What: Cardboard of any shape or size *EXCEPT* cardboard that is (1) soiled (think food waste or water) or (2) contains staples.

  *   Does cereal box, cracker box, shoe box, etc. type cardboard count? YES
  *   What about random sheets of cardboard that are not in box form, do you want that? YES
  *   Should I break down cardboard boxes before donating them? YES, please
Where: Please deposit your cardboard contributions in the ‘room next to the Braille production room’. This room is in black cabinet hall. If you are facing the Braille production room door, the door to the 'cardboard room' is to the right. If you have trouble locating this room, Mya can show you where it is.

When: We will be collecting cardboard through July 25. If we manage to amass sufficient cardboard prior to July 25, we’ll let you know (this is highly unlikely… we need A LOT of cardboard).

Why: What’s with the cardboard, Shaheen? NFB EQ (and likely NFB BELL) students will be partaking in a creative cardboard building activity Monday evening 7/31. They might build an arcade game<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faIFNkdq96U>, some furniture, bridge or building models, sculptures, human mazes, or something else! The students’ creations will be on display during the week fo NFB EQ (July 31-Aug 3), so be sure to check them out!
