Subject: [NFBMD] URGENT Action Needed on Monday or Tuesday, February 12-13

Hello all,

The House of Representatives will be voting on HR 620, the ADA Education and Reform Act on Wednesday. This will be a terrible Valentines present to the blind because it will weaken our civil rights and seriously diminish the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please call or email your Congressman on Monday or Tuesday, February 12-13. We must defeat this bad bill. Tell them to vote no!

I want everyone to call or email Congressman Andy Harris. He is a cosponsor of this HR 620 bill. His phone number is 202-225-5311 and his email is andy.harris at mail.house.gov<mailto:andy.harris at mail.house.gov>. Everyone should also call or email Congressman Anthony Brown because we have information that he is leaning towards voting this bad bill. His email address is anthony.brown at mail.house.gov<mailto:anthony.brown at mail.house.gov> and his phone number is (202) 225-8699.

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
