[Greater-Baltimore] Amphibious Adventure Continues

Hi all,

 

A brief update on the frog sculptures project: our focus group (President
Riccobono, Cheryl Fogle Hatch, Marguerite Woods, Chris Danielsen, and
myself) have been consulting with ArtEasy and Game of Frogs on behalf of the
affiliate to provide advice on accessible sculptures. Andrew came to the
chapter meeting a few months ago with one of the sculptures, which included
some Braille elements. We also had an event at Cross Street market where
people were able to decorate miniature frogs with paint and tactile
elements. It was a huge success.

 

There will be another opportunity to decorate little frogs a week from
tomorrow, which would be August 9. Riverside Park, right near the Johnson
entrance to the NFB Jernigan Institute, hosts monthly concerts during the
summer. Andrew is bringing the frogs and decorations back, and I would love
to have some representation from the chapter. You'll also of course be able
to enjoy the free concert and whatever food trucks are there. I will do my
best to attend. Let me know if you're interested-we might be able to get a
group together.

 

As always, thanks to the focus group for their advice and time. I'm glad
we've been able to participate in this project-Andrew and Ellie have taken
our advice into account, and the city will be better off because of these
accessible public art installations.
