Dear Federation Family,
Would someone please send this to any other appropriate
Maryland lists that may be interested, e.g., the TLC and At Large Chapters?
Also, if anyone can pass this specifically to Shirley in Pasadena, I cannot
find her number!
We are gathering the food, drinks, and miscellaneous items
we will need for our NFB Banquet Watch Party and need a final count. If you
are wanting to attend and we have not heard from you yet, please send a
message to me directly at
Marion.Gwizdala at GMail.com <mailto:Marion.Gwizdala at GMail.com>
Sure, you could listen to the banquet alone but there is so much positive
energy when a group of federationists gather to celebrate our achievements
together! In addition to the watch party, we will offer pedal boat
excursions along Stoney Creek from about 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Come join other
Federationists who wish they were in Austin! Read on for more details!
In my introduction, I mentioned how much we enjoy cooking and hosting
gatherings at our home. One such gathering we host when we are unable to
attend convention is a Banquet Watch Party. Merry and I are very excited to
have our first big gathering in our new Maryland home be an NFB gathering.
The banquet will be shown on our 65-inch television and audio will play
throughout our property. Whether you choose to sit by the fire pit, hang out
with the dogs in the dog run, enjoy the water view from our front porch, or
hang out at the kitchen bar, you will be able to enjoy the banquet
proceedings. As a bonus, anyone interested in a prebanquet beach party and
cruise along Stoney Creek on our new pedal boat - Sunny Dream - is welcome
to join us early!
In a nod to the banquet's venue, our bonus son, Jeff Woody,
will smoke brisket for the gathering. We have procured two bottles of
Austin's Own Bar-b-q sauce for those who like their brisket wet. Completing
the menu will be potato salad, baked beans, Cole slaw, watermelon, and a
variety of appetizers. This party will be a BYOB, so please bring whatever
you enjoy to raise your spirits! We will likely have live music, maybe some
fun games, perhaps some door prizes. Well behaved dogs on leashes are
welcome and we have a secure dog run if the dogs are interested in playing,
too!
We realize we live in a transportation desert, so we have arranged for
transportation to and from the Pasadena Walmart Supercenter, located at 8107
Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. We will have two pick up times: 1:30 & 5:30
p.m. We will return to the Walmart around 10:30 p.m. for 11:00 Mobility
rides. However, if someone who drives is interested in attending and would
be willing to help out with transportation, we would like to chat about that
option.
If you are interested in attending our watch party, please let us know by
the end of today (July 6) so we can begin our preparations tomorrow! Though
not expected, if you would like to bring food or drink to share, please let
me know. If you have any food allergies, please let us know that, as well.
Replying to the Greater Baltimore list is a great way to build enthusiasm;
however, I am not subscribed to any other Maryland list. If you received
this message from any other source than the Baltimore Chapter, please
contact me off-list at the address above.
Fraternally yours,
Marion Gwizdala
Merry Schoch
