> Hello everyone,
>
> We are a group of researchers from University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Maryland, Baltimore County. We are conducting accessibility research to study how the presentation of disability features on avatars would affect the experience of people with disabilities and their interactions with other people in social virtual realities (VR platforms). We are looking for people with disabilities to join our study!
>
> Participants will be asked to complete a three-phases study:
> an initial 1-hour interview to reflect your social VR avatar experiences.
> a 2-week diary study, where you will be asked to explore VRChat using avatars with or without disability features (e.g., wheelchair) for 4 hours/week at minimum and complete a short daily survey.
> a final 1-hour interview to reflect your experiences in VRChat.
>
> To join the study, participants must:
> be at least 18 years old.
> have low vision.
> have regular access to a VR headset OR a computer/laptop with Windows system to be able to use the VRChat.
>
> (Note: currently, there are no VR platforms that are accessible with a screen reader, so participation in this study is limited to individuals with low-vision. No prior computer gaming experiences are required, although people with prior experiences in VRChat are preferred but not required.)
>
> All studies will be conducted remotely, and we offer a compensation of $125 for completing the entire study. If you are interested in participating in the study, please fill out this survey and we will get in touch shortly: https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a9SKT2gxCR9wI2a. Please feel free to forward this information to anyone who might be interested, thank you!
