Blindness and Breast Cancer October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In February, we hosted a webinar to discuss accessible breast cancer information, detection, and prevention for blind women and their families. The webinar included segments from Dr. Kim Kubek, a board-certified Diagnostic Radiologist, Dr. Jill Lykon, a Clinical Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Coordinator, Dr. Kristin Capece, a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, and the American Cancer Society. Included in the webinar was an audio description of how to do a breast self-exam with ASL interpretation narrated by Dr. Kim Kubek.
