Here are a couple of items about the history of the NFB that you can find in various ways and formats.

Walking Alone and Marching Together - A history of the organized blind movement in the United States - 1940-1990
By Floyd W. Matson This book is very long. As you read you may recognize some of the names from the past that are still here. This book is on BARD.

Building the Lives we want 75 Years of the National Federation of the Blind. This document has various authors, and I found it on Newsline.
