Hello GPC Members and Supporters,

We are excited to share an upcoming volunteer opportunity with Cradles to
Crayons at their Giving Factory!

We will be volunteering on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 1 PM to 3 PM, and
we are looking for 10 volunteers to join us for this meaningful experience.
The Giving Factory is located at 4700 Wissahickon Avenue, Philadelphia, PA
19129.

Here is a snippet from their website about what we will be doing:

“When you volunteer with Cradles to Crayons, you join a force for
good—thousands of people—who are working to end Clothing Insecurity for
children right here in our local neighborhoods and beyond! Thank you for
giving your time to provide the critically needed clothing and essentials
kids deserve every step of their childhood”.

“A volunteer shift at Cradles to Crayons connects you to new and gently
used donations that you will quality check, sort, package, and prepare to
go to kids in our communities through our incredible network of Service
Partners. At The Giving Factory, activities are broken up into specific
stations, each one part of the larger “Quality = Dignity” journey that
transforms donations into curated orders for children. Throughout your
shift you will be led by a Volunteer Leader who will provide instructions
and be present with you during the entire shift to answer questions and
provide any assistance you may need!”

Important Volunteer Guidelines:

   - Pre-registration is required. All volunteers must sign up in advance,
as only pre-registered individuals will be allowed inside The Giving
   Factory.
   - Please arrive 15 minutes prior for check-in. This means, be there by
   12:45PM.
   - Bring a reusable water bottle as they do not have any bottled water
but do have water refilling stations.
   - Wear comfy clothes and closed toes-shoes.

We are asking that all volunteers sign up no later than April 13.

For any questions or concerns, please contact our Chapter’s Community
Service Committee Chair Anissa Brown at 267-312-1715.

We thank you in advance for volunteering and look forward to serving
together and making a difference in the lives of children in need.

Sincerely

 Stacie

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
