Hello all,
The South Carolina Black Leaders Division has a meeting this Thursday about
resilience and leadership. I will be one of the speakers for that event.
If possible, please attend and show the Federation family in SC some
support. This is open to all racial and ethnic backgrounds as leadership
crosses all lives.
Thanks,
Stacie

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.

Hello Federation Family!
April is recognized as National Stress Awareness Month and this allows for
a time that reminds us just how important it is to take care of our mental
and emotional well-being.
But let’s be real…
Leadership is not always easy.
The work can be heavy.
The challenges can be real.
So the question becomes:
How do leaders stay strong when the work gets hard?
The South Carolina Organization of Blind Black Leaders (SCOBBL), a division
of the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina, invites you to
join us for a powerful and honest conversation titled:
*“Resilience: How Leaders Stay Strong When the Work Gets Hard”*
🗓 Thursday

This session will explore real-life strategies, and we will be guided
through conversations around building resilience while navigating
challenges in leadership, in blindness, and in everyday life.
This conversation will be facilitated by a strong leader within our
division:
✨ Michelle Scott, SCOBBL At-Large Board Member and President of the
Charleston Chapter of NFB of SC.
Michelle will be joined by dynamic leaders who bring both lived experience
and leadership insight:
✨ *Debra Canty*, President of the Sumter Chapter of the NFB of South
Carolina
✨ *Stacie Leap*, President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the NFB
of Pennsylvania
Together, they will guide us through a discussion that is not just about
surviving leadership, but truly thriving through it.
If you have ever felt the weight of responsibility…
If you have ever had to push through despite obstacles…
If you are leading now or preparing to lead…
Then, this space is for you!
Come ready to listen, reflect, and grow. And don’t come alone—please bring
someone who needs to hear this message that speaks to both *LEADERSHIP *and
*LIFE* in general.
Let’s grow stronger together. 💛
Warmly,
Janice Bright, MA OL
