[GreaterPhilly] GPC Events for May and June 2026

Hello all,

Here are some chapter updates for the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the
National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania for the months of May and
June 2026.

Please note that we will not have a chapter meeting for the month of May
due to Memorial Day weekend. We will reconvene in June on Saturday, June
27, 2026, in person and via Zoom.

For all chapter members who are planning to attend the National Convention
in July, please notify 1st Vice President Marva Hall as soon as possible,
as the board will be determining financial stipend amounts. She can be
reached by email at marva at myyahoo.com or by phone at 215-834-0102.

Also, please do not forget that our Annual Bake Sale and Auction will take
place this Friday, May 1, from 12 PM to 4 PM at Park Tower Apartments,
located at 4001 Conshohocken Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131. Doors will
open to the public at 12 PM. Volunteers are expected to arrive at 10 AM for
setup.

Please remember that we cannot accept CashApp and will only accept cash or
PayPal at this event. We will have homemade baked goods available, as well
as raffle items and our Elephant Table where items will be sold for $2, $4,
or $6. The auction will begin at 2 PM.

In addition, we are still collecting payments for our Casino Bus Trip
Fundraiser. Tickets are $35, and you will receive $18 back in slots play.
The event will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. The bus will leave 12th and
Filbert Street at 10am sharp to head to Resorts Casino in Atlantic City,
New Jersey. The bus will depart from Atlantic City at 5:30PM to head back
to Philadelphia. Please make sure to secure your rides accordingly as we
will be unable to wait for anyone. We will leave promptly at the designated
times mentioned above. Please connect with Acting Treasurer Louis Colquitt
at 267-252-8531 to secure your seat. Reservations are not guaranteed, as
this is a popular trip, so please submit payment as soon as possible to
secure your spot

We will also be hosting a Co-Chapter Luncheon with the Keystone Chapter on
Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Penrose Diner. Penrose
Diner's address is 2016 Penrose Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19145. Please note
that you will be responsible for your own food and drink costs. Kindly RSVP
