The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.

Do you want to get Physically healthier, meet new people, and improve your
mental and emotional health? Well, adaptive sports may be the answer for
you! The NFB NOBBL Women’s group is excited to present a panel discussion
on adaptive sports. Our discussion will be held on Monday, June 8th at 7 pm
via Zoom. It will be moderated by Denice Brown, an active participant in
guided running, adaptive tennis, and ballroom dancing. Our panelist will
be Melissa Wilcox, coordinator for Philadelphia Achilles; Leila Mueller,
coordinator for the Sound of Tennis; and Cory Lloyd, adaptive sports
ambassador for the city of Philadelphia. They will share their experiences
with adaptive sports, expand your perspective on the range of adaptive
sports, and give you insight into how to find programs in your area. As
usual, there will be a presentation by the panelist and then we will open
the room to answer your questions. There are no “dumb” questions, but as
usual, there will be many insightful answers. We look forward to an
impactful conversation that we hope will be motivating and
transformational. Please pass this invite along to anyone who you think
would be interested in attending.
Sincerely… Carol King-Ries
