The best advice is probably to make sure your anti-virus program is 
up-to-date, make sure you use software to detect and remove spyware and 
be careful what home pages you go to.

Okay. So what are we, as users and Web habitués, supposed to do in order 
to
minimize our exposure to this? I read the BBC article and it doesn't 
seem to
provide any such advice. Run your antivirus program hourly? Don't surf 
the
Web?
