Don Barrett Demonstrates Turning Text Into Audio Using Text Aloud On Tek
Talk Monday, November 17, 2008

The Accessible World News Wire, Indianapolis, Indiana USA

Responding to many requests we have received to provide training in
making
MP3 files from text documents to transfer to the VR Stream and other
portable devices, we have invited Don Barrett to discuss this topic in
detail during next week's Tek Talk online training sponsored by the
Accessible World.

This training session will discuss exactly what Text Aloud is, where to
buy
the software, how to begin using it, how to use various voices, batch
file
conversion, how to add, pauses and change voices within a file, use the
pronunciation editor to change the way words are spoken, and more.

After listening to this tutorial, it is guaranteed you will be able to
obtain the software, and use it to convert text-based material into an
audio
format which should be pleasing to listen to on a portable player.

About the Presenter:
Don is an assistive technology specialist and the Section 508
Coordinator
for the US Department of Education. He is involved in testing
applications
for Section 508 compliance, setting policy on the implementation of
Section
508 at the Department, and oversees the training of visually impaired
individuals in the use of assistive technology.
He's an avid computer user, has a real passion for training individuals
in
computer use.
