There is a good accessible free computer chess game called BGChess by
Spoonbill Software. Unfortunately I don't have the URL at hand, but I'm sure
you can find it with Google.

Then there is a very strong and comprehensive accessible computer chess
program   that is not free called Kchess Elite which costs in the region of
$45. You can get it at:
