In general Mac hardware is more expensive then Windows stuff.  The 
hardware is generally well designed and nice, but not cheap.

To be honest I can't see why you would move to the Mac.  You said 
your main support guy is a Windows guy.  This stuff, in all honesty, 
doesn't always come easy to you, so I am not sure why you would 
switch Operating Systems.  Switching OS's and screen readers is a big 
deal, and unless you love to learn new stuff, can teach yourself, and 
there is stuff you could do on the Mac instead of with windows, then 
don't switch, in my opinion.
