[gui-talk] Daydreaming about PC laptops. Any comments?

Dave,

Not meaning to interrupt, but I knew what cloud computer was. I just
mistakenly was under the impression that netbooks were so called because
they were so stripped down as to enable nothing to be done with them but get
online and do everything there, I.e., do cloud computing. But people are
saying no, no, netbooks can have hard drives and hold applications and
stuff. Sorry. Didn't know. Or forgot.

Net books are not necessarily "cloud computing."
Cloud computing is using applications via the internet,
applications that run from a server, and are accessed with your
internet browser. A Net Book is a small, stripped down laptop. So,
Sherry, if your laptop is of recent vintage, you might be happier
with it than a net book.

The performance of netbooks is ok, but nothing great, fine for a
little e-mail or browsing.
