ah. control Shift I to toggle it off? Escape worked until just recently. Let 
me launch IE7 and try that...

It works! Damn. I tell you Escape worked just fine for whatever it's been, 
like a year or two. But whatever the reason, this is just fine. One IE 
problem down, and only ten more to go. :-)

On my computer control I does indeed open the favorites however it seems
that control I won't close it.  It also seems that control shift I is listed
as the toggle and it does seem to open and close it as it should.
