Hi all,

This is an important announcement about upgrading your knfbReader Mobile
to
version 6.1.9. Many of you will want to install this upgrade for
yourself,
but some may not. This message should help you decide how much help you
will need if any. All Mobile Reader distributors are receiving detailed
instructions. For those who need help with the upgrade, please contact
your
distributor for assistance.

Before going further, you need to know that this upgrade process only
applies to current customers whose Readers speak only U. S. English.
Upgrades for Readers that speak and read in languages other than U. S.
English will be available through the distributors of those Readers and
not
through this process.

In Australia, please contact Pacific vision.
www.paicificvision.info

Here are things you need to prepare for the upgrade:

The user name and password needed to access your Reader account on the
knfbreader.com website. Access to your account is necessary to activate
your Reader software the first time you try to use it after
installation.
Therefore, whether you know it or not, an account was established for
you on
the website at the time your Mobile Reader was first prepared for you to
use. Please contact your distributor to obtain your account log-in
information if you do not have it.

The serial number of your Reader. You will need your serial number
(normally a series of nine letters with a dash after the third and sixth
letter), to complete activation of the software the first time you start
the
Reader after installation. You can find your serial number on the
outside
of the product package, both in Braille and in print. You can also get
your
serial number by loging into your "my reader" account and following the
link
for "view and manage my licenses."

Uninstall your existing Mobile Reader before upgrading. This point is
covered in the installation instructions you will find under the
download
software link on the knfbreader.com website.

Read installation instructions carefully. Detailed instructions have
been
posted on the website to help everyone perform the upgrade correctly.
Failure to follow the instructions is likely to result in an incorrect
installation with the Reader failing to function as intended.

Files to install.

The first file you need to install for the upgrade is called:
"knfbReader_v6_1_9.sis." Before installing this file you need to decide
if
you will also want your reader to be able to read foreign language text.
If you decide you want to install any other language aside from U. S.
English, you must install the basic reader file and any language packs
to
the memory card of your phone rather than to the phone memory. If you
only
want the reader to read in English, you can choose to install the Reader
application and the U. S. English language pack to the phone memory.
The
choice to install to the phone memory or the memory card is presented on
your phone during the installation process. All installed files must be
in
the same place, which means either to the phone memory or the memory
card.

The second file to install is the U. S. language pack. The U. S.
language
pack is called: "Reader_ENU_7_1_0.sis"

for users who purchased the Mobile Reader at the original full price of
US
$1,595, before the price reduction to US $995.00 in mid November, 2008,
you
can install and activate two foreign language packs in addition to your
primary language. You can choose the foreign languages you want from
the
list of language packs available on the website posted below the primary
languages of U. S. English or U. K. English.

Activate the upgrade. After you have installed version 6.1.9, you will
need
to follow the activation steps the first time you start the Reader.
Press
the left selection key when prompted for "next" to start this process.
Detailed steps for the activation process are included in the
installation
instructions.

Further assistance. Please contact your Mobile Reader distributor for
further assistance with this upgrade.
