[gui-talk] Speakers and Amplifiers:

Don,

Sorry I forgot to mention that this speaker system does have a volume
control as well as bass and treble controls. These are easy to adjust knobs
on the left speaker. To me, it was important that the speakers I bought had
such controls, and also that they be operated this way. I didn't want push
button or toggles built into a handheld remote. Even if they'd been easy to
learn to operate with the help of a sighted friend, the fact that if I lost
or misplaced the remote I couldn't control the speakers was something I
didn't want to deal with. So control knobs like those on the system I bought
were a feature I read customer reviews to figure out because I couldn't see
the photos of the speakers on Amazon, and finally, when I was pretty sure
this model worked the way I wanted, I emailed the link to the product page
to a friend with good vision and had them look at the picture to confirm
that there were knobs on one of the speakers.

Hope that helps.

I've got this new Dell laptop which is actually a pretty nice machine except
that it's got crappy speakers.

I'd like to buy a small but powerful system so that playing audio files or
sports you get a good listen.

A volume control would be nice too so that you don't have to mess with the
system volume when volume levels change.

Thanks for any suggestions.
