Oh, really? So when I've downloaded and installed from the Web page, that's 
always been the entire program, as I could tell by the size?I have no idea 
what the size of this auto update deal was, but I'm telling you, it took 
just as long to download and install as if I'd done the manual thing. So I 
have no idea. Doesn't matter, so long as Jaws still works for me. And it 
does. So whatever.

As for that bit about how, if you install either the next update to this 
version or the next release, you'll get these things anyway, okay, fine, but 
I'm bound to make more than one person laugh if I say well, sure, but by 
then they'll have figured out and fixed what they screwed up this time in 
this supposed improvement. With a little luck, anyway.

I used the Auto Update feature for the first time, and so far it doesn't
seem to have destroyed my computer or whatever people have said about it in
the past that made me a little apprehensive. It did take just as long in
downloading and installing as when I've done it manually, so I figure what
it downloaded and installed was actually the entire new build, not just a
few modifications to the one already on disk. That's fine, just didn't know
that's how it worked. I did find myself missing the reassurance of the
self-voicing Install Wizard dialogues, but no big deal.

Now I'm up to date and whatever happens when you fail to be up to date isn't

going to happen to me. Maybe security breaches or something like that?

Ah, if only all my life's difficulties were as easily dealt with as figuring

out what to do with a jaws update. Sigh.
