I just posted an update  to my HushNow Script which allows you to choose
another key for silence. You can choose a regular key (such as the default
F12) through the keyboard manager, or you can press Control-Alt-Shift-H to
select modifiers only for silence.  If you choose to do this, Control, Alt, or a
combination of the two keys seems to work best.
