The Pacmate is the only note taker that I know of that offers any kind
of data encryption, but I doubt that it is FIPS, but you may want to
call FS and check on it for sure.

I was hoping someone was more up to date on these than I--seems not yet.
 
I'm at a complete loss as to why the AT industry does not meet this
Federal government requirement.  It really increases the complexity of
providing IT accommodations in the Federal work place.  Frankly I'd be
happy with a netbook with integraded phone and Braille display--even a
nice case to just hold everything would probably due.  The Braille Star
was a great unit but hasn't really kept up with the technology.
