NVDA comes with its own default TTS and one can buy a bunch more. So I don't
see why the Windows TTS is necessary. But I don't see how Windows even was
installed without one. What happens when your friend runs Narrator?

Subject: [gui-talk] windows 8.1 tts

Hello,

I am working with a student who has just installed the NVDA screen reader on
her Windows 8.1 system, but she doesn't have the text-to-speech engine
installed or, if it comes with Windows 8.1, it hasn't been enabled.
How is it enabled or where can she download the tts engine?

Many thanks
Sincerely,

Allen Maynard
