Has anyone actually experienced it on the access site? I almost never use the access site but I've never had to worry about it on the regular site and I've been a steady user since 2006.

Hello Jerrald and everyone,

And no way for deafblind people to use Amazon's Website. Audio
captchas are of no use to someone with impaired hearing in addition to
blindness. These people need to grow up, roll up their sleeves and
employ bot control technology that does not prevent their Websites from
being accessed by the disabled. If other companies can employ
alternatives to captchas Amazon should do likewise. How ridiculous!

I placed an order three days ago and did not encounter any image captchas myself, but I’m wondering whether anyone else has recently been confronted by an image captcha on the Amazon site. One person claims that he was confronted with an image captcha on the accessible Amazon.com site, which is supposed to be optimized for screen readers, and thus, should presumably be blind-friendly. And there is apparently no auddio challenge alternative to the image captcha,so unless you have Firefox with the Webvisum add-on, there is no way to solve it without sighted help. A few people have complained to Amazon about this issue, but have not yet received any responses. . If Amazon.com, the world’s largest online merchant, has, in fact, added an image captcha as part of its sign-in procedure, what , if anything, can be done to force them to remove it? I’m planning to do a lot of holiday shopping on Amazon, and the last thing I need is to be confronted by an image captcha to spoil my shopping experience.
