[gui-talk] Help Needed with Strange JAWS and Word Problem

Regarding my problem with JAWS apparently changing the format of a Word
document, I found at least a partial answer.  I found a technical article on
the FreedomScientific website dealing with an issue where an extra blank
page appears to print when JAWS is running.  According to that article, TSN:
86846, this is partly due to a Microsoft bug.  The solution is to turn off
Header and Footer detections by going into Quick Settings when in Word.  I
found that this seems to have completely corrected the problem I was having
as well.  I have sent a note describing this to JAWS Support with the hope
they wil incorporate this information into the article.  As much as printing
an extra blank page is annoying, reformatting a document could be even more
annoying.  Thanks to all who offered advice.

I am strictly looking at the document that was created by the merge.  I have
switched screen readers keeping word and the document open and also closing
it each time and my results seem to be the same.  The only thing I've seen
is that I thought JAWS 15 never exhibited the same behavior but it seems
that in one case it did.  Very strange.  I am going to see if I can recreate
this with a new document and probably contact support as Dave Andrews
suggested.

Are you seeing the differences based on which screen reader you are using
while viewing or while  creating the merged documents? So once the document
is created, and if you switch readers does it make a difference what the
margins say? I would quit word before switching screen readers also.
