Well, all of that sounds great. I was a dog user for about 15 years until my
health deteeriated. Automation overall is changing so fast that I wonder if
@ many times, we as blind people are left in the dust.

Hi Rob,

I certainly hope so. One application I can think of is guide bots for the
blind. Bots that could replace guide dogs. Then we could get around all
this, allergy and people refusing to transport guide dogs, because people
would have bots, and I can't imagine someone claiming to have an allergy to
a robot.

AI could also do fancier things, like letting you know when it is safe to
cross a street. I am a dog user, and have found that in a number of
intersections, I am still very nervous about crossing the street. Not all
intersections thankfully, but enough that I think it is a problem.

I'm sure AI will have other great applications for blind and sighted users.
For instance, asking a AI to find relevant material could be a huge time
saver when conducting research of any kind.

Who knows what the future will hold.

I keep hearing on TV about AI technology. Will this technology help the
Blind?
