[GUI-Talk] Looking for a Setting in Outlook

Hello:

Steve's information is indeed correct. I myself am managing two email
accounts simultaneously in Outlook and find that pressing Alt M and
explicitly picking the account from which one wants to send is the 100%
guaranteed solution to the problem. Reading the article more closely
(despite the ads), it appears that the default account setting only applies
for new messages and not to messages that one replies to.

All the best,

Curtis Chong

Denise,

This link has good information and maybe what I'm about to say is obvious,
but I hope you can avoid problems I did not avoid. I have a profile with
two accounts and I set the default account. However, as the link says,
Outlook will tend to use the account when replying that contains the email
to which you are replying to. In addition, in my experience, it uses the
account that is linked with the folder that is current even on a new
message, not the Default Account. While the behavior is fairly consistent,
I really wanted all of my mail to be sent through the same account
regardless of how I received the message to which I was replying.
Therefore, in the end, I just got into the habit of pressing ALT-M to get to
the list of "from" email accounts available and picking the one I wanted.
Setting the default will certainly help you, but I found it of little value
in my case. As always, something in what I have written could change on a
dime with an update or even be somewhat different in a newer version and I
may possibly have not noticed the change.

Best regards,

Steve

Subject: [GUI-Talk] Looking for a Setting in Outlook

Hello everyone,

I am using Outlook 2016 under Windows 10. I thought that there was a setting

in Outlook mail that would let the user set a default account from where

e-mail is to be sent. However, I cannot locate it. Does it still exist?

Thanks.
