[GUI-Talk] JAWS With Chrome

Hi Denise,

I'm using Internet Explorer 11. Anyway, when you're an FAQ (I think that's the page you're thinking of) and press Space when JAWS says "tab closed," you can see the answer in the heading under the tab.

Dear Denise,

This depends on the web site you are visiting. Sometimes it is JAWS, sometimes it is the site. Some sites have their tabs so that you press enter and you can get what is underneath the tab and this is sometimes is visually referred to as the Accordion layout of a web site. Sites, you have to go past the tabs till you can get to the information.

You may also at times hear JAWS say "Use JAWSKey+Alt+M to move to control element", which, if your hands are practically elastic, you can press that keystroke 😊 -- geeky as I can be I won't always get that one either.

I know Chrome is usually good about web page stability, more efficiently than other browsers, but if that doesn't help, try other browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer or Edge as Louis suggested.

If you have other questions, let us know. I'd be happy to help more if you would provide a link to the site you are looking at to see if anyone in here experiences the same problem you see.

Best,

Humberto

Hello all,

I am running the latest version of JAWS 2019. I have the latest version of Chrome on Windows 10. I am visiting a website that has tabs that if you press enter, should open the tab and let you read what is under it. However, while the tab does open, I am not able to find the information. I tried tabbing and shift tabbing, but that seems to just move me from one tab to another.

Am I suppose to use another keystroke, once I open the tab?

Thanks for any help.
