Hello Rob,

The new Edge is out.

----
Spoiler alert, it is accessible.
Right on schedule, one year after Microsoft announced they were going to switch to Chromium for their next version of Edge, it is now available to the
general public running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and recent versions of Mac OS.

You can download the new browser from
https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fedge&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cd3e673841c6741bdc25a08d79a71157c%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637147682785557162&sdata=dHZ%2BbfmSwKBOQGXDG6sydIrpHFgJEhrSVZ%2BbmIv7WwY%3D&reserved=0
and once you install it, any Windows 10 icon for Microsoft Edge (desktop, taskbar, start menu and/or live tile) will take you to the new Edge. According
to tech blogs, Microsoft is going to push this version to all Windows 10 users through Windows Update at some point but for now, anyone can download it
from the link above.

Accessibility

My initial test with Fusion proved positive. The first time you run the new Edge, if you are running a screen reader, you will be presented with a link
to learn about the new accessibility features in the new Edge browser. Webpage navigation with JAWS is about as snappy as it is with Google Chrome. I also
tested Supernova, which immediately cried foul when the original Edge browser was loaded. Supernova no longer directs you to use Google Chrome or Internet
Explorer, probably because it detects the Chromium resources and treats the browser as if it was another fork of Chrome. Reading the web with Supernova
actually works on the new Edge browser.

	Hi Rob,
According to a member of the JAWS Users group which I own on Facebook, the new Microsoft Edge will be rolling out gradually with most people being offered it sometime this spring. Here is a link to a Microsoft support article about the accessibility features in the new version of Edge. Article title: "Accessibility with the new Microsoft Edge":

Subject: [GUI-Talk] new microsoft edge

Hello all:

My understanding was that the new Microsoft Edge was suppose to roll out a couple of days ago on the 15th. I have been using the new Beta version of tis. According to articles I have read, it was suppose to update automatically. However, I got a prompt a couple of months ago saying that I woulde be prompted to download something when the new official version of Edge was to roll out. Can someone set me straight on this?

Thanks in advance.
