Fellow Federationists:
We have learned that HR 620, a bill that will reduce the effectiveness of the ADA by creating a wait period and making it much harder for us to file and enforce ADA complaints, is scheduled for a vote in the House on Thursday.
Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa has assured me that she will vote NO on this bill. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has not declared her vote yet, though.
Tulsi has two primary staff members in her DC office who are points of contact for us on this:
Patrick Koetzle, Patrick.Koetzle at mail.house.gov
Dave Chun Dave.Chun at mail.house.gov
If you want to email them, that's great. If you want to call, that's also really helpful. Social media, such as Twitter or Facebook, might help, too.
Here are the two phone numbers for Tulsi:
Washington, DC, office phone: (202) 225-4906
Honolulu office phone: (808) 541-1986
Twitter Handles:
Personal @TulsiGabbard
Congressional Office @TulsiPress
Please get the word out and ask her to join Colleen Hanabusa in voting NO on HR 620 because the ADA protects us, and we want to keep it that way!
If you have any questions, feel free to call or text me.
Mahalo nui loa,
Justin
