Hi, Meg:

 

It all started with a botched gall bladder surgery in 1990; the surgeon
clamped off my primary bile duct instead of an artery. So I had a major bile
leak for 2 weeks before they decided to scope me and that is where they
found the problem. The bile duct by then had disintegrated and so the
surgeon had to construct a new one. (BTW, this surgeon is no longer
practicing in Kansas, thanks be to God!) I've had problems with adhesions
causing me to have intestinal obstructions, and the surgeon who did the most
recent removal of adhesions in June thought he had fixed it. Obviously
something else is going on. Hopefully we'll figure it out soon. Are you
still in your Hadley course, Meg? How is that going?

Some of you may know that I had to go back into the hospital last Wednesday
and they sprung me yesterday, just in time to go to a long-anticipated
concert in Kansas City.

I was back to work today. It appears that the handy-dandy fix-it surgery I
had in June didn't fix it so we have to scratch our heads some more and go
Hmmmmm! It's great to be back!
