If there is anything that Leonard can help you with at the convention please feel free to ask him I will not be there for I didn't have the time off of work. I hope that you all will have a wonderful time and I will miss you all this year.
Love Meg

Hi, Chikako:

You and Comet had a wonderful life together and the memories of that can never be taken away from you. I hope and pray that you will be able to use the knowledge and nurture gleaned from those memories and your experiences with Comet to assist you as you move on to your transitioning to a new dog guide. At times like this I find the concept of the Rainbrow Bridge very comforting.

Love,

Susan

      Hello Everyone,

I must break very sad news to all. Comet who has been my loving dog guide for almost nine years passed away this Sunday the 26th. She unexpectedly became very ill on Saturday the 25th. I took her to the K-State Veterinary Clinic very next day hoping that something could be done to make her comfortable and take a step toward her recovery. However, sadly I found out that there was no option for her complete recovery. The fluid built up in her chest around her lung. It was matter of time the fluid would enter in to her lung and suffocate her eventually. I could not let that happen to inflict further suffering on my lovely Comet. I had to make the hardest decision I have ever made in my life so far on that Sunday evening. I stayed with her till the very end. She went peacefully a little before 8:00PM on Sunday evening. I greatly appreciate to you-all for your emotional and material support for Comet and myself. She will be (I am most certain) remembered by every one of you. I miss her very much and will continue to miss her. At the same time I recognize the importance of celebrating her life.

      Sincerely,

      Chikako Mochizuki
