[Home-on-the-range] Call to action

Fellow Federationists, 

 

This is a nationwide call to action.  On August 3, 2011 the HELP committee
will vote on the Workforce Investment Act.  Within this act is section 511.
In this section it states that employers would be allowed to pay the
disabled subminimum wages.  This is discriminatory and simply unjust.  On
Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 10 a.m. to noon the National Federation of the
Blind will protest this section in front of Senator Pat Roberts office.
Senator Pat Roberts is on the HELP committee.  His office is at 155 N.
Market Wichita, KS 67202.  Signs, flyers and a petition will be provided at
the protest.  

 

Please join us and bring others to help in the protest.  This is an issue
that impacts all disabilities.
