Tom Page Trio Celebrates 3rd CD Release

Wichita, KS (Wednesday April 24th 2013): Wichita based roots/rock ensemble ‘Tom Page Trio’ will be hosting a party to celebrate their newest CD release. The trio features Page ‘slinger, songwriter’ on vocals and guitar, Jonathan Eaton on the bass, and Tommy Crabb plays the drums. They are joined by some special guests on the disc that you might hear occasionally at a local gig.

The CD entitled ‘Dust Bowl Demos part 3’ is the last of the ‘Dust Bowl Trilogy’ says Page. “I want to thank the fans for helping us sell out of the first two installments… I think the next series should feature some prairie reference perhaps. Rest assured we are working hard to produce the next material now. Stay tuned for some split 7” vinyl records…”

The CD contains songs that range from ‘indie rock’ to ‘alt country’. From the blues to bluegrass. This is typical of the mix presented by the band. Electric and acoustic guitars are blended with Harmonica on ‘Tulsa’ and lap steel on ‘South Wind’. “I don’t try to write particular types of songs, I just take them as they come… I think that there is diversity but it’s all definitely us at the same time” continues Page.

Tune in to ‘Strange Currency’ on KMUW 89.1 FM this Saturday for a preview.

The party will take place at the Candle Club (6135 E 13th St N, Wichita, (316) 684-7281) on Wednesday May 1st at 7:00PM. Raging Sea will entertain followed by Tom and the boys. Admission is free; tell the doorman you are Tom’s guest. Fan’s, friends and any one who just might be curious is invited. The Candle requests no hats and that guys wear a shirt with collar. CD’s will be available for $5.

Tom Page Trio has been touring the area for the past 4 years playing what they describe as ‘dust bowl rock and roll’. A blend of country, blues, roots rock, and jazz the trio focuses on original material. Recently the band appeared in the Kansas State Fair TV and Radio spots, and has performed several shows as back up for Wichita/Boston rock legend Bill Goffrier (The Embarrassment, Big Dipper), appeared at the Tornado Bait Party, and that’s not to mention playing most of the venues the region has to offer. The Trio will perform at the ‘Concert for the Cure’ supporting ‘The Old 97’s’ at the Orpheum on May 22nd.
